Having both a background in negotiation training and experience working as a car salesman for a prominent Southern California Acura dealership, I’ve got something of a unique perspective on the world of car sales. On an new car chances are your salesperson will make a base commission no matter what price you agree on—unless you pay MSRP, in which case you just sent your salesperson to Hawaii.Most of the time car salespeople are trying to move a large volume of cars to reach monthly bonus incentives. Used cars are a different story, but on a new car, salespeople will just want to make the deal fast. Sales Management, on the other hand, is a different story.
